Alexandra & Daniel’s Wedding in Paradise
…Springs, that is! What a stunning couple Alex & Daniel make, and their wedding day was a true reflection of the love, joy and laughter they share. These two are the sort of couple who you just know are meant for one another and seeing them together reminds me what makes this job so rewarding. From the moment I met these two I could tell they were madly in love just by the way they looked at each other, and while I’ve only spent a short time around them, it became instantly apparent that they were a perfect match. The pair reside in Burbank, CA (which was coincidental since that’s where I was born) but met here in Oregon where they’re both from so they decided to celebrate back home with close friends and family.
They chose an absolutely gorgeous venue in the small town of Monroe, just outside Corvallis, and it was absolutely breathtaking. As soon as you pull into the driveway it’s like being over at a retreat far from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, and you instantly feel relaxed and on vacation. The ceremony was scheduled to take place outside overlooking the gorgeous property, but our usual inclement Oregon weather was teasing us throughout the day once again, but thankfully the weather Gods were on our side and an hour before the ceremony was set to begin the sun made an appearance and it was beautiful the rest of the day and into the evening. Phew! We had a fabulous team of professional vendors working which made for a smooth and fun wedding.
We had the opportunity to work alongside Anne & Paul Nunn of Anne Nunn Photography and they were awesome! We connected several months before the wedding and Anne was a dream vendor as she was in constant communication leading up and through the wedding and the photos rock! They speak for themselves so be sure and take a peek at her blog for all of them. We also got to work with one of our good friends, Ryan, of Focal Point Digital Media, and his work never disappoints, plus he’s always fun to hang out with on the wedding day. Jesse of Event Team Northwest did an amazing job of MCing the event and kept the party going strong till the end! Mike and his crew at OSU Catering did a great job with the hors d’oeuvres, entrees and bar service and everything looked and tasted fantastic!
The gorgeous floral was provided by Kate at Flowers & Felicity (website in progress) out of Corvallis who was also a dream to work with. The evening was a most memorable one filled with an intimate ceremony, funny and touching toasts by the bridal party and friends, special signature drinks created by the couple themselves and a dramatic first dance. Alexandra & Daniel we are so happy for you both and thank you for allowing us to be a part of your wonderful celebration. Cheers to many years of love and laughter!
Kind words
In prepation for my upcoming wedding at Paradise Springs this Saturday I was organizing my many folders and sorting through papers from my past couple of weddings. In doing so I came across a very sweet card that one of my recent clients wrote me as we approached her big day. It was very touching and a great reminder of why I love what I do. I’d thought I’d share it with you…
“Dear Amy,
I just wanted to say thanks for being such a fabulous wedding planner and more importantly a friend throughout this whole process. My mother, bless her heart, cannot really participate, and my friends are all consumed with their own lives and responsibilities. It really meant a lot to me that you were at the tasting with Vibrant Table. You should really advertise your ability to stand in for the bride, and really more importantly, with the bride. Hands down (after Charles) you’re the best decision I made!
~Janet”

Simply stunning…Janet & Charles get married
From the moment I drove away from Youngberg Hill late on Saturday night I’ve been thinking about how incredible Janet & Charles’ wedding day turned out to be…after worrying that our year-round unpredictable Oregon weather might rear it’s ugly head, the day ended up nothing short of spectacular, and the sunshine was just the beginning.
From the stunning venue, the lively and charismatic guests, the endless gorgeous decor (after all, Style Me Pretty was her inspiration!), seeing all the intricate details come to fruition, the warm and happy couple themselves, and of course the impeccable group of wedding professionals who helped make this a most memorable and seamless day…there are certainly no shortage of fond memories that I’ll hold dear to my heart for a very long time.
I still remember the day I met Janet nearly a year and a half ago when she came to my office for a consultation. She was just lovely and so excited about planning her big day! Janet is warm, funny, inviting, witty, down to earth yet her taste is top notch and well, simply divine. It wasn’t till several months later that I met Charles when he was visiting and I joined them for a cake tasting at Papa Haydn (rough job, I know!), but the moment I met him I could tell they were a perfect match.
Despite their unique backgrounds — Janet is a southern girl at heart (originally from Arkansas) and Charles is Scottish – they complement each other wonderfully and you can tell they have many years of love and laughter ahead as they travel the world together.
In fact, travel was the underlying theme behind their wedding decor (place cards were luggage tags with a map in the background that were hung with mini compasses, table names were cities of significance attached to globes, which sat on stacks of books that represented places they’d been, etc.)…all of which was beautifully calligraphed by the very talented Alesia Zorn.
I could go on all night about the details of their wedding weekend from the warmth that was felt by their guests the moment they arrived at their cocktail party on Friday night at NW A Wine Bar in downtown McMinnville (magnificently catered by Vibrant Table), to their heartfelt ceremony (music was performed seamlessly by Wendy and team at Effesenden), to the very last dance at a reception that could have easily lasted till midnight (thank goodness there was an after party!), this was a most amazing day.
Thank you to ALL of the fabulous vendors who made this day come together so perfectly…the wedding was captured beautifully by the gracious and very talented Lauren Brooks. Videographers extraordinaire, Ryan & Gary of Focal Point Digital Media, did their magic filming the big day (trailer to come very soon!), Adria with Lavish Flora created over-the-top gorgeous arrangements with natural tones of greens, browns and touches of white that complemented the chocolate pintuck linens perfectly. From Janet’s bouquet to the monogrammed letters that were attached to the couple’s chair, to the chandeliers she decorated that hung inside the main tent, every detail was attended to and the result was magnificent.
Nicole & Chrystal of Nicole Wagner Makeup are credited for enhancing Janet’s natural beauty as well the women close to her. We have worked with them on countless weddings and they always do amazing work! Lei Kaula of August Veils also provided Lady in Waiting Service for Janet and her entourage and she made the day that much smoother and relaxing for everyone…thank you Lei! A huge thank you to my assistants, Susan and Cindy, as well as Virginia and her team at Cafe Uncorked, for all of your tireless efforts to make this day truly magical…I could not have done it without you.
Here’s to wishing our lovely couple, Janet & Charles, a wonderful new life together as husband and wife. It was a real honor to work alongside such gracious and kind people and you will be missed. A huge congrats to you both and I hope you’re enjoying a cocktail for me as you soak up the sun on the warm beaches of Tahiti…you deserve it!
