Fun & fresh flower purses for Mother’s Day!
It’s that time of year when we all go on the hunt for the perfect Mother’s Day gift — how is it that it gets more challenging each year? Rather than buying mom another pair of earrings to add to her already overflowing jewelry box, or taking her out to brunch for the 10th year in a row, why not surprise her with one of these beautiful, fun and fresh flower purses made exclusively by the talented Francoise Weeks. Not only are they unique and gorgeous but Francoise can create a variety of styles using different types of floral, moss, feathers and other interesting materials all designed around your mom’s unique style and personality.
These lovely arrangements can be made in a variety of shapes and sizes (perhaps your mom’s favorite purse is a clutch — Francoise can make one!) and with or without handles. Let your imagination run wild! This is something any mom will love and enjoy long after her special day. Prices range from $55 – $125 depending upon size and detail involved.
To order your custom purse give Francoise a ring or shoot her an email with your vision and she’ll create a masterpiece. Make sure and place your order by May 4th to ensure your floral purse is ready in time for Mother’s Day. Mention this blog and receive 10% off your order! For more information or to contact Francoise, check out her website at www.francoiseweeks.com, call her at 503.236.5829 or email her at francoise@francoiseweeks.com
Erin Grace Photography…tried and true
It’s very rare that I take my daughter to vendor meetings, even if they are over a casual lunch, but I knew this date with Erin Grace at Laughing Planet Cafe in her SW Portland neighborhood was the perfect exception to the rule. Not only do Erin and I have the wedding biz in common, but we both have babes under the age of two, so there was an instant connection! Unfortunately I haven’t yet had the pleasure of meeting her sweet 15 month old son, Pierce (well besides the adorable pics I’ve seen on facebook), but Erin, my daughter Emma, and I all had a great time playing and laughing over tasty soup, salad and smoothies as we chatted about weddings, mommyhood and life. If I had one word to describe Erin it would have to be authentic. While I don’t know her terribly well, I suspect you can say just about anything to her and she will respect your position.
She is 100% real and what you see is what you get. I’m fairly certain this is why I like and respect her so much. Erin is passionate about both her work and her family, and is able to balance the two beautifully…something I strive for every day. She also does so in an amazingly composed and cheerful manner. I first met Erin in July of 2008 when we worked together on Jodi & Darren’s wedding up at Kruger’s Farm on Sauvie Island. We didn’t get much time to chat other than during a short break where Erin revealed to me that she was expecting and had to eat! Understandable…I would have done the same
After that wedding (which was beautiful and filled with laughter and a lot of fun) I started checking Erin’s website/blog for photos, and ended up reading updates on her own life and pregnancy.
Over a year went by before our paths crossed again and I’m so glad they did because Erin is a wonderful person and I’m sure anyone who knows her would strongly agree. Erin takes on a limited number of weddings each year and because of this she is able to really get to know each couple long before their big day. Rather than just showing up and taking photos on the wedding day, Erin has a genuine interest in the personalities and lives of each and every one of her clients and strives to capture moments that truly reflect the full range of emotion that happens from the bride getting into her gown to the final moments of the reception. If you are lucky enough to have Erin photograph your wedding (and perhaps your future family), you will have a dedicated and talented professional on your side…and very likely a new friend. Erin’s work has been featured in Portland Bride & Groom magazine and she is an active member of the Wedding Photojournalistic Association and the Artistic Guild of the Wedding Photojournalist Association. Erin works on her own and for this reason and many others, she takes on just one wedding per weekend, and a limited number per year.
Thefore you will want to contact her soon to setup a consultation to discuss your wedding. Erin just recently started booking for 2011 and her packages start at $3,000. She is offering a free hour to anyone getting married in 2011 who books their wedding with her by May 31st, 2010 and mentions this blog. For more information or to contact Erin check out her website at www.eringracephotography.com or give her a ring at 503.550.7708.
Thank you, Erin, for such a FUN, relaxing time…can’t wait to do it again soon and hopefully next time Emma and Pierce can have a play date! Photos shown here are from Jodi & Darren’s big day in July of 2008, and what a day it was. These two were (and still are) so in love and there was so much joy from beginning to end and Erin captured every moment perfectly. Beautiful job on these Erin!!
