Wedding in Paradise?
This past week I escaped the rain and gloom and took a much-needed vacation to the sunny Bahamas…I’m back in Portland now and will be updating the blog soon. In the meantime, for those of you who are still undecided on your location or venue, ever considered a destination wedding? There are some beautiful ceremony and reception spots on this island, the locals are some of the friendliest people I’ve met, and you can have a gorgeous wedding on the white, warm sandy beaches for a fraction of what you would pay here. Just a thought…oh, and did I mention we are available to travel so you don’t have to worry about a thing? Happy to!
Queen of Creativity!
Spirited, fun, vibrant, creative and witty…these are all words that come to mind when I think of Alesia Zorn. She is one of those talented women who will leave a great impression on you from the moment you meet her. I first met Alesia back in ’07 when I was introduced to her by our mutual friend and fellow coordinator, Cindy Rosen, of Encore Events. The three of us have attended many networking events together including being active members of the Association of Bridal Consultants where we became instant friends. Over the past three years I have worked with Alesia on a number of occasions and she continues to impress me by coming up with fresh and creative ideas to help couples add a unique touch to their ceremony or reception. Not only does she offer elegant envelope addressing for save the dates and invitations, traditional menus, table numbers/names and place cards, she is also capable of writing on a wide variety of medium including apples, wood, chalk boards, you name it, and is always anxious for an opportunity to create something new and modern. She will even fill in your keepsake marriage license which is super cool if you plan to frame it! Alesia has a variety of font styles to match the feel of your event and offers monoline, dip pen or brush for lettering. If you come to Alesia with even the slightest idea of what you’d like I can almost guarantee that she’ll be able to take your vision and create something amazing. Just five minutes from her house is Paper Zone, one of her favorite spots where she gets inspired and excited about her work. She even meets clients there so she can offer suggestions and help them find the perfect paper, envelopes, pens, etc. for their calligraphy needs. In addition to being creative and talented, Alesia is someone I can recommend to couples and I never have to worry for one second that she will let them down. She is efficient, reliable, affordable and puts her clients needs first. If you haven’t met Alesia I highly recommend you make it a point to call or email her to discuss your wedding or special event. Make sure and check out her website and blog for more details and samples at www.alesiazorn.com and give her a ring at 503.287.3207 or email her at alesia@alesiazorn.com. I just know you’ll have a ball!

Blush in the Press
I am very excited to announce that Blush Bridal was mentioned in the 2010 Portland Bridal Show insert in this morning’s Oregonian entitled “On The Path To I Do” thanks to my clients Ahna & Kyle Proctor. I had the pleasure of coordinating Ahna & Kyle’s wedding at the First United Congregational Church and Portland Art Museum in September of 2009, and it was quite a day! Ahna is every coordinators dream. Even though she began planning her wedding nearly two years out, she saw the value and insight a professional coordinator could provide and hired Blush to assist her with tying many of the details together. Blush has coordinated countless weddings at the Portland Art Museum but Ahna & Kyle’s big day was one of the most creative and detailed I’ve seen yet. Ahna spent numerous hours (and late nights) creating beautiful homemade invitations, menus and programs, fun accessories and even purchased tons (and I mean tons!) of sweets for their very personalized candy buffet, all of which were in their wedding colors: chocolate brown and various shades or orange. In addition, Ahna & Kyle had a top notch vendor line-up including Vibrant Table Catering & Events, Artistique Photgraphie, Blum Design In Flowers, Solstice Video, Event Team Northwest and Dream Cakes! All of these amazing vendors along with Ahna’s meticulous attention to detail helped create a memorable ceremony and reception that set their special day apart from other weddings they had attended. I am not at all surprised that Ahna & Kyle’s wedding was chosen for this article as Ahna is very creative and resourceful, and has a tremendous amount of insight to offer future brides! Thank you Ahna and Kyle for choosing Blush to help with your very special day. You two are a perfect match and I wish you all the best in your new life together!
